On Monday, April 6th, Tyler Bailey, a Project Engineer at A. Secondino & Son, participated in Career Day at Hamden Middle School. During her visit, she provided students with an engaging overview of her role and offered valuable insight into the construction industry.
Tyler walked students through her day-to-day responsibilities, including a detailed look at what a typical workday is for her, for example what a Wednesday on the job entails. She also discussed the educational pathways, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities required to succeed as a Project Engineer. In addition, she spoke candidly about both the highlights and challenges of working in construction, giving students a well-rounded, real-world perspective of the field.
Throughout the session, Tyler encouraged student participation by answering questions and sharing personal experiences from her career. The students responded with enthusiasm, asking thoughtful and engaging questions that reflected a genuine curiosity about both her role and the industry as a whole. Their level of interest highlighted a growing eagerness about potential careers in construction and related fields!
