Many of the multi-family residential projects under construction today are for agencies created by a city or town for the development or revitalization of certain neighborhoods. These projects are often funded by the Federal or State Department of Housing and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA). This poses specific restrictions on these agencies for bid practices, affirmative action requirements and post completion budgetary requirements.
A. Secondino and Son, Inc. has an experienced team of project personnel and compliance personnel able to meet the very demanding administrative requirements of this industry. We have worked closely with state agencies, including the Commission on Human Rights Opportunities (CHRO), to meet minority and small business inclusion requirements. We have also held job fairs to hire residents of specific neighborhoods targeted for redevelopment. Our project managers and accounting department are able to work closely with the agency client to develop CHFA and DOH budgets and to report final audited results at project completion.
